Is this true?: To prefer the company of equals is to prefer reason.

Here is the thought that led to this statement: The optimal degree of strength for development of reason is 1) strong enough to be able to make one’s extraordinary and as-yet-inconceivable reasoning heard and considered — but 2) not so strong as to be able to force acceptance one’s conclusions.
