“Dunning-Kruger” is only four syllables, which is an advantage over the nine syllable “metacognitive incompetence”.
“Hubris”, however, is two syllables, and “pride” is just one.

Okay I have to admit I didn’t know what Dunning-Kruger was and since this is the second time I’ve seen it I had to look. Only to realize that with almost 30 years in bedside care I experience it almost daily. Such a nicer way to express the sentiment than ‘hell no I’m not doing that you have no idea what the hell you’re talking about do you want me to kill this person?’
Once you understand Dunning-Kruger, it cannot be unseen. It is the superiority of a person who feels superior only because they are too inferior to have anything to compare their limited ‘superiority” to.
